The giant coreopsis are only found on the ocean coastal  bluffs from Malibu in LA County to San Luis Obispo County and on the Channel Islands but nowhere else in the world. Each spring they come to life in a spectacular  display of golden yellow blooms and bright green leaves. California Poppies  ( Eschscholzia californica) open up on nice sunny warm days, but they curl up if it’s windy and cold. Thankfully today was a wonderful warm sunny day and the wildflowers were spectacular.
