No gray whales observed today despite adequate conditions. Cloudy overcast morning with flat calm seas led to windy partly sunny skies and choppy seas mid day. Dark stormy clouds loomed at the horizon near sunset as an unidentified large military ship could be seen with bright lights moving at high speed leaving a large wake just under the thick cloudy marine layer. A Coast Guard ship, Coast Guard helicopter, large Naval plane and Marine helicopter were also seen in different locations throughout the day. A civilian bicolored plane also flew by at a low altitude in windier conditions while Baywatch Malibu was heading back to port.
